Jute is a fantastically eco-friendly material, which can be harvested 3 times a year. It grows without needing fertilizers or pesticides, and in fact improves the quality of the soil for future crops. It's also 100% biodegradable, naturally fire resistant, and hard wearing yet soft.
British-designed, the range is made by a family-run manufacturing company in Bangladesh, using organic jute fibres and local, artisan skills. The company is now ECOTA accredited (the National Fair Trade Network of Bangladesh, a World Fair Trade Organisation).
The eco credentials continue with premises running off solar energy, whilst recycled rain water is used for dying the yarns and the jute bales provide natural sound insolation from the yarn spinning machines.
