Kim Day lives just outside Corfe Castle, and balances painting with a successful career in the film industry. Her paintings featured heavily in the Bridget Jones film 'Mad About the Boy'.
She recently appeared on TV in the Sky Landscape Artist of the Year Competition '26, and won! Her rendition of Corfe Castle - 'Everything is Here' - was her Semi-Final Commission piece, and is available to buy as prints or cards.
Inspired by the local countryside, Kim’s paintings often evoke the emotions she experiences whilst walking, cycling and swimming in nature. A restrained palette and subtle charcoal and pastel details soften the bold shapes of her abstracted landscapes, lending them a gentle charm.
Kimberley works on Saunders Waterford 638gsm papers (and occasionally gesso boards) with acrylics, compressed charcoals and pastels pencils. She has a BA Hons Fine Arts painting degree and a Masters from the NFTS | Royal College of Art in Design for Film.
