Handmade Cyanotype Velvet Square Fern Cushion -

Luxurious velvet cushions with a fern leaf design, handmade by local artist Aline Johnson using a 19th Century photographic process called Cyanotype.

This process uses foraged fern leaves, iron salts and sunshine to create a beautiful print. The leaves are used as stencils, with the areas exposed to light gradually taking on a different, darker colour whilst the hidden areas remain a brighter, often contrasting hue.
