John Dimech
John is a Dorset artist, based in Sturminster Newton in Dorset - a long way from his birthplace of Malta. His stunning landscapes are full of vibrant colour and appear jewel-like, especially when set within a wide white frame. Perhaps this is down to his previous career as a gold and silversmith? He certainly brings out the brightest colours in the local Purbeck seascapes, and uses acrylic on board as his preferred medium.
'I love painting landscape and seascapes especially where the land meets the sea. I like to capture the light created by the combination of the elements at different times of the day and try to help the viewer appreciate the beauty around them'.
