  • Featuring an ancient and characterful beech tree in an English woodland, this picture is filled with the warm colours of Autumn - contrasted against the greys and greens of the trees and roots. Originally created using mixed media - predominantly pastels - by local artist Judy Tate.

Judy is a highly regarded artist and has been selected to show her pastels at the annual Pastel Society exhibition at Mall Galleries London for the last six years in a row.  Her work varies, but can be divided broadly into abstract works (usually based on organic shapes), and more realistic interpretations of  landscapes and (particularly often) the plants and flowers in her garden.

Her use of colour is often initially the most striking aspect of her work, which certainly gives it a wonderful vibrancy, whilst the soft marks and blending of the pastels adds a depth and gentleness which helps tame the stronger tones.

Our prints of Judy's work are on 'blocs' which are 10mm deep with white edges. The image goes edge-to-edge, and they are supplied ready to hang and sit tightly to the wall. They are great for anywhere in the house including kitchens and bathrooms due to the crystal laminate that is applied over the picture.
