'White lilies' Pastel Original

A striking original artwork in pastels by Dorset artist Judy Tate. Soft white lilies in a bouquet of colourful flowers and botanicals against a muted orange backdrop.

Judy is a highly regarded artist and has been selected to show her pastels at the annual Pastel Society exhibition at Mall Galleries London for the last six years in a row.  Her work varies, but can be divided broadly into abstract works (usually based on organic shapes), and more realistic interpretations of landscapes and (particularly often) the plants and flowers in her garden.  

Her use of colour is often initially the most striking aspect of her work, which certainly gives it a wonderful vibrancy, whilst the soft marks and blending of the pastels adds a depth and gentleness which helps tame the stronger tones.
